Lisa Vanderpump confirms that the decision to reboot “Vanderpump Rules” was not hers to make!
Lisa Vanderpump he finally addresses the majority Vanderpump Rules reboot that shocked Bravo fans last week. Then it was announced that the entire cast, except for Lisa herself, will not be returning for Season 12, the 64-year-old reality star and executive producer shared her thoughts on the show's new direction.
Speaking at the grand opening of her Las Vegas restaurant Pinky's from Vanderpump, Lisa reflected on saying goodbye to the beloved cast while teasing what she's looking for in the next generation of SURvers.
“Looks like we told that story,” Lisa said Access to Hollywood. “I mean, it's been 12 years, 11 seasons, so I thought it was time to go back to basics. The whole premise of the show was about the restaurant business, then it took off.”
Although she acknowledged how iconic the original cast had become, Lisa admitted it was time for a fresh start. “I can't minimize – and I don't want to – the importance of how great that cast was and how open it was. I love everyone, but it was time to call it a day,” he shared. “It was all of us, a lot of discussions. And of course, I'm sad.”
When asked what she hopes to see in the new Vanderpump Rules lineup, Lisa emphasized authenticity and real-life dynamics.
“I look for authenticity. I think that's the first thing you look for,” he explained. “People who can really be themselves, because nothing is as interesting as when people are just honest with their lives. I'm looking for great connections, which always happens – whether positive or negative.”
According to Lisathe restaurant business naturally breeds drama. “When you're in the restaurant business, it's a nucleus, and it holds everyone together — and that's when things get complicated,” he added.
Meanwhile, Vanderpump Rules Executive producer Andy Cohen also weighed in on the reboot, hinting at new twists and surprises for fans. An original cast member also revealed that they left the show right after the explosive season 11 reunion.
