Apple Music just announced it’s expanding its live radio service . The channels are hosted by real people and available to everyone, even those who don't have a paid subscription to Apple Music.
First up is Apple Música Uno, which celebrates “the wealth of diversity in Latin music styles around the world.” The station will play music from a variety of genres, including Mexican music, reggaeton, tropical music, Latin pop and more. The show is hosted by superstars such as Becky G, Rauw Alejandro and Grupo Frontera, as well as radio personalities Evelyn Sicairos and Lechero. It airs every Sunday, but there are special programs on the weekends.
Apple Music Club takes things to the next level, focusing on dance and electronic music. The show will be directed by Tim Sweeney, host of WNYU's Beats in Space rather than running Epic Games, and DJ and artist NAINA. Apple says each playlist will be “curated into a dynamic collection of songs.” The playlists will be curated by celebrities including Honey Dijon, Jamie xx and FKA twigs. After broadcast, each broadcast can be re-listened to by DJ mixes on the platform.
Finally, there's Apple Music Chill, which has been described as an “escape, a refuge” and a “sanctuary of sound.” It's nice to have that in the background as you go about your day. This feels like a version of the famous lo-fi girl playlist to me. Apple says, “The show will be a continued highlight across genres.” It all starts with a brand new Beck song, a cover of “Here Now.” Brian Eno co-hosts (Among other things.)
All these stations are available now. they join Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country.
