Back on track – BionicOldGuy

After recent setbacks like sciatica, my training is finally back on track. Now that I try to post more often, I think I'm somewhat overwhelmed, maybe a little discouraged. I have been doing a lot of PT stretching and strengthening the muscles in the lower back and hip area so hopefully no more back slippage. I'm back to an average of two hours of exercise a day, including biking, strength training, and PT. So far so good!

I hiked the Coyote Creek Trail on Friday, but instead of the paved trail, I rode straight on the local dirt roads. These are very lightly used, I think they are intended more for horseback riding, but they are great for bikes as long as you have wide enough tires. I was able to stand for longer periods again on a straight road which I found to be a pleasant alternative to a seated ride.

Yesterday it was back to normal to visit the hills southwest of town. At good speeds, around 18 mph (~30 km/h) or so, it's fun to drive with a little electric assistance.
