Sonu Nigam recently performed at the Rising Rajasthan event in Jaipur, where his powerful performance attracted a large audience. In a video posted on Instagram after his performance on Monday, Sonu spoke directly to politicians, urging them to reconsider their approach to participating in cultural events. He wrote in the caption: “A humble request to all Indian politicians, please do not attend any of the artists' performances if you have to leave immediately in the middle of the road. This is disrespectful to the artists and artists and Maa Sarasvati.”
Sonu also pointed out that even Prime Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and other ministers left during his tenure, raising concerns about the message that such actions are being made public.

At least they will be notified before leaving. My humble request to all of you is that if you have to leave like this, do not come. Or at least leave before the show starts.
Sononigam expressed frustration, describing the act as “extremely disrespectful.” He noted that “Leaving in the middle of an artist's performance is very disrespectful. This is an insult to Princess Saravati. At first I did not notice that you left, but later I received many messages from people advising me not to perform at such events for politicians who leave halfway. So I have a humble request: If you have to leave, do so before the program starts. Do not participate. I understand that you are an important and busy person with a lot of responsibilities and your time is worth it. Please do not waste it by attending if you can not stay for the whole performance.
Sonu ended his statement with a polite but firm appeal, saying “It is a humble request.”
